As part of the DAAD project FiT – Förderung internationaler Talente, the IPU Berlin offers extracurricular certification courses each semester to support international (psychology) students and those interested in their studies and prepare them for the German job market.

Student mentoring
The program supports students during their first months of study. Experienced students help new students by providing advice in tandem or in groups on the following topics and with the following goals:
- Orientation at the IPU and in your studies: course of studies, places, people, groups and committees
- Events and self-organized studying, “alone” or in learning groups
- Study and examination achievements
- Study and career goals
- Interests and abilities
- Networks and contacts
- Reasons for studying, fears about studying

Research day for students
Short presentations by scientists and “contact exchange”
Once a year, always on a Friday morning in mid-January, at the IPU Berlin.
How students can make use of the day and what they can talk about with the scientists:
- get to know the IPU's current research projects
- exchange ideas with (former) students about their theses
- write their own theses in the projects
- complete research internships, participate in research projects
- participate as a subject in experiments and surveys
- find out about opportunities for doctoral studies after graduation
